In an obvious attempt at demonstrating the Cuban Governments willingness and desire to improve relations with the new Obama Administration, Fidel Castro, 82, held a lengthy meeting with three members of the Congressional Black Caucus...one day after their meeting with his brother, Il Presidente. Everyone was in agreement that "normalization' was in order and hopefully very soon.

Obama took office in late January and by early April a small delegation of American lawmakers was meeting with Cuba's Foreign Minister. This told me that Cuba was on a fast track to redemption and recognition. Holy Mole...Guacamole. Developments were really moving fast.

Today NPR Radio devoted an hour to discussing travel to Cuba. The callers to the show were way off the mark when describing the Cuban infrastructure and hotel situation. They were under the impression that the quality of the hotels in Cuba was not up to American standards. They didn't realize that Europe, Canada and Latin America have been building 4 & 5 Star hotels and resorts on the island for the last 20 years and that there are properties on the island that are comparable to anything we have in Hawaii. Matter of fact Cuba has a beach resort town called Varadero which is very similar to Mexico's Cancun with approximately 30 new luxury hotels and resorts facing wide sandy beaches and a gently rolling azure ocean that stretches as far as the eye can see.

"Travel ban may be lifted"

Wow!
Things are moving very fast.
Two weeks ago when I started this site I was anticipating that it was going to take at least a year for the Obama administration to get around to lifting the travel ban to Cuba. That would give me a year in which I could build up a Cuba mailing list while enlightening the 3-4 million Americans who are eagerly waiting for the travel ban to be lifted that I am a knowledgable, reliable and trustworthy tour operator...someone you could depend on to deliver a positive travel experience to Cuba.
But...
Yesterday a bipartisan group of senators predicted that Congress was now ready to pass legislation to allow all Americans to travel to Cuba.
Yikes!
I don't have a year to slowly build up a client list. I've got to deliver now. Time to shift into overdrive and get the word out... If you're going to Cuba when it's legal to do so...Go with TommyCuba!
